Visually impaired Chennaiite explains how he cracked the UPSC code

CHENNAI: Beno Zephine broke the glass ceiling last year when she fought against all odds and became the first ever Indian Foreign Service officer with 100 per cent visual impairment. Now, following in her footsteps is another youth from Otteri — Bala Nagendran (27). Nagendran is also cent per cent visually challenged, who has successfully cracked the Indian Civil Services examination (2015).

HYDERABAD: How does it feel not to have a vision? What does one go through when one can see, but finds it tough to type something on the  cramped smartphone keypad? Microsoft India hosted Confluence, a annual diversity and inclusion conference in Hyderabad on Friday. It had a host of events and sessions to help its employees understand shortcomings of people, be sensitive towards them and be more perceptive towards all.
