The Delhi High Court today directed the Centre and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to provide "scribes" to visually- impaired candidates appearing for Central Teachers Eligibility Test(CTET) tomorrow. Scribes are persons who would do the writing the answer sheets for the visually-impaired candidates. The court also directed them to provide extra 30 minutes for the candidates to facilitate them to write the examination. "The Ministry of Human Resource Development(HRD) and CBSE shall make special arrangements for amanuensis and shall provide 30 minutes additional time to the visually-impaired candidates and also provide the scribes in all the centres to facilitate them to write the examination", said Justice Manmohan Singh in an order. "If there is shortage of scribes, the candidates, having own scribes, may be allowed in the examination centre," the court said.
