Educated unemployed persons are eligible for allotment of STD/PCO s. the educational qualification for the applicants are:

• VIIIth or middle class pass for rural areas
• Matriculation or High School for urban areas

Reservation in government schemes for persons with disabilities

3% allocations of funds in all poverty alleviation programmes in rural and urban areas is earmarked for usage by persons with disabilities (in terms of allocation of resources as well as individual coverage)

The formation of self help group for supporting economic activities is encouraged and training in appropriate vocational trade is provided free of cost. Government is providing support to self-help group under the scheme Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana.
