ANJALI scholarship
Objective
The objective of ANJALI scholarships is to enable disabled
students with limited means to receive higher education or professional
training in creative and performing arts, like dance, music, fine arts,
theatre, cine acting etc. (this is merely an illustrative and not an exhaustive
list)
The basic objectives of the scholarship scheme are:
To identify the hidden talents of young men and
women with physical or sensory disabilities and to bring to limelight
their artistic potential and creative ability.
To enable disabled students with limited means to
receive education or professional training from renowned 'gurus' and
thus ensure a firm standing from the economic point of view.
Scope
The scholarship may be awarded to students with the
following disabilities:
Blindness or low vision
Hearing impairment
Locomotor disabilities, including those arising
from cerebral palsy and allied disorders
Eligibility
The candidate should be an Indian National
between 15 and 25 years of age. (However, the age can be relaxed at
the discretion of the awarding authority).
The candidate should have a preliminary training
of 2-3 years.
Should have performed in public.
The income of the candidate or his parents/ guardians
should not exceed Rupees 8,000 per month.
Applications could be made for training in one of
the following or any other category approved by the awarding authority.
Odissi Dance
Classical Vocal (Hindustani)
Instrumental – Tabla, Violin, Flute
Fine Arts / Sculpture / Pottery
Theatre
Organisation / Schools for children with special
needs in the form of provision of a teacher.
An approved or government institution established
since 5years.
An Organisation or school for special children.
Amount of Scholarship: The basic rate
of scholarship shall be Rupees 1000 per month.
More information
A sponsorship will be provided for the entire duration
of the approved training.
Fees will be handed over directly to the teachers,
every three months on receipt of the progress report from them.
The continuation of the scholarship will depend on
the satisfaction of both the trainer and the trainee.
The awarding authority reserves the right to change
the scheme and/or amend the rules without any notice.
