Diploma in Special Education (Deaf-Blind) / D.S.E (DB)

Course content: This is an undergraduate level course. The course will envisage, introduction to deafblindness, instructional strategies, deafblindness-perspectives and use of special aids and appliances, etc.

Eligibility: Minimum qualification of Higher Secondary or equivalent there to, the with minimum 50% marks from any recognised Board.

Desirable:
a) Diploma in special education in hearing impairment, visual impairment or mental retardation.
b) Parents / siblings or significant relatives of deafblind children if they fulfill the above qualification.
c) A sponsorship letter from an NGO or agency willing to absorb the trainee after successful completion of the diploma.

Duration: One year

Training of primary school teachers of the visually disabled

Course content: In this practical oriented curriculum is followed. More demonstration about the teaching of visually disabled are conducted as supplementary exercises to the theory lessons. Frequent student seminars, workshops, symposia, etc, are conducted for exposing the teacher trainees to various situations.

The course acquaints the teachers with nature of curriculum and methods of teaching in special schools or integrated settings. It enables the teachers to describe the implications of blindness in education and personality development, etc.

Eligibility: The teacher trainees should have passed 12th class examination or equivalent from the recognised Board of examination.
