The magnitude of the problem of disability and its impact is very severe on the individual, family and the community. There is a need for grassroots workers to work at the community level. The Diploma in CBR aims to meet this need in the society. Duration: One year; Students enrolling for the programme should complete all the modules in four successive annual examinations including fieldwork and practicals from the date of enrollment. There will be a final examination at the end of the course. However, the failed candidates have to appear again by paying the prescribed examination fee. Students completing the entire course successfully will be eligible for the award of P.G. Diploma. Course Content: This diploma is offered by the Bangalore University, Directorate of Correspondence Courses and Distance Education and Department of Psychology with technical cooperation from CBR Network (South Asia). The aim of this course is to train an individual to be an expert in Community Based Rehabilitation for the restoration of the physical, psychological, social, vocational and educational potentials of a disabled person to the best of his/her abilities, with the primary objective of social inclusion.
