This is a special school for the hearing and the visually impaired students run by a world renowned educational and religious organization called Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel. From the modest beginning in the year 1962. St. Louis is one of the premier institutions of learning and living for the hearing impaired and the visually challenged in India today. • St. Louis started a college for the deaf in 1993 in collaboration with the department of Social Welfare, Government of Tamilnadu and University of Madras. The college is affiliated to the University of Madras vide no. AI / V / 94-95: 1585 dt 21.09.1994. The college offers a three year degree course in B.Com with both English and Tamil. The lecturers are specially qualified to teach the hearing impaired. It is the only college offering higher education for the hearing impaired. • School for the deaf and the blind • Offers diploma in Printing Technology and certificate course in type writing. Minimum qualification required is Std. VIII pass. • A well equipped library for the hearing and the visually impaired. • A Computer lab for the hearing and the visually impaired • Hostel facility • A mini gym for the blind and deaf students
