An
Ottawa-based communications company is doing its part to help more children
participate in a popular Christmas tradition. T-Base Communications is assisting
Canada Post's annual Santa letter-writing programme by providing response letters
in Braille to blind and partially-sighted children from around the world. The
Canada Post programme has been running for 24 years. It receives more than one
million letters to Santa each year and responds in more than 20 languages.
It is the fourth consecutive year that the company has helped with the programme, offering the service to Canada Post at no charge. The company replies to children's wish lists in Braille on a daily basis. "T-Base is proud of its continued support of the letters to the Santa programme," said T-Base Chief Executive Sharlyn Ayotte. "All children should experience the thrill of receiving a response from Santa."
T-Base specialises in Braille along with large print and audio communication formats that allow companies to communicate with customers who cannot access information in conventional print.
