New computer centre opened in Bangalore
Eyeway News Service
IBM and Mithrajyothi, in collaboration with Enable India, have started a computer centre for persons with disabilities in Bangalore.
Opened in end-December, the centre offers basic computer training, that is, MS Office and Internet Explorer using JAWS. The emphasis of the six-month course is for students to gain computer knowledge and use it effectively for employment, daily living and recreation.
Instructors’ posts will be shared equally by visually impaired and sighted instructors. The instructors are practical users of JAWS and of the computer and have some teaching experience.
Candidates who complete the course successfully and have the required qualifications will get an opportunity to be placed in IBM.
