Score Foundation is looking for a Project Coordinator for Sensitisation on Life with Blindness programme.

This is a contract based position, initially for 7 months.

Score Foundation is an NGO working in the domain of blindness and visual impairment across India. It is responsible for Project Eyeway, a national project to disseminate information on life with blindness via its radio shows in Oriya, Hindi and Helpdesk Teams based in Delhi, Odisha and West Bengal.

 Ophthalmologists are the first point of contact for an individual with visual impairment. As the ophthalmologists are in a position of power and influence to their patients & immediate family, Score Foundation aims to sensitise ophthalmologists on the opportunities and support available to individuals with visual impairment and blindness that enables them to live independently. As part of this initiative Score Foundation wants to produce a series of training materials for ophthalmologists and patients on the support and opportunities available to visually impaired individuals in India and also on the rights and entitlements of a person with a disability in India.

As an NGO for visually impaired people, Score Foundation will give preference to applications from people with visual impairment.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

1.      Construct a comprehensive research plan with sound methodology and strict timelines.

2.      Coordinate structured meetings with ophthalmologists and patients/parents of patients.

3.      In consultation with the experts, develop a series of sensitisation materials for ophthalmologists and patients.

4.      Manage ophthalmology project budget.

5.      Regularly report to CEO and team members on project progress (through presentations/meetings/reports etc.)

 

We offer a challenging assignment to a candidate with:

1.         University degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Social Sciences, Visual Rehabilitation.

2.         Solid working knowledge of researching and producing professional reports/communication materials.

3.        Knowledge of the blindness and visual impairment domain.

4.        Understanding of and demonstrated commitment to issues regarding disability in general and vision impairment in particular.

5.        Excellent communication (written and verbal) and inter-personal skills (e.g. breaking down complex policy and legislative language into easy to understand communications).

6.        Proven personal organisation and time-management skills.

7.        Being able to work independently as well as in a team.

8.        Ability to understand and operate computer equipment and programmes.

9.        Good ability in Microsoft Office.

10.    Experience researching and writing professional reports/communications materials.

11.    Experience of project management.

12.    3-5 years’ experience in research and professional drafting.

The maximum salary is Rs. 20,000 per month.
