Score Foundation is looking for a Radio Production Assistant


Score Foundation was established in 2002 and set up Project Eyeway, a knowledge resource for those living with a visual impairment.  Through Project Eyeway, we offer a range of channels to reach out to blind and visually impaired persons across India.  These channels include; a weekly radio programme, Eyeway Yeh Hai Roshni Ka Karawan, a website www.eyeway.org , a helpdesk with trained visually impaired counsellors, workshops, SMS alert service, and a Talking Books Service.

As an NGO for visually impaired people, Score Foundation will give preference to applications from people with visual impairment.

Job Description Radio Production Assistant

 


SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of the Radio Production Assistant position is to perform support duties in planning, researching, producing and delivering radio programmes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Participates in the planning of the Eyeway radio programme.
  2. Assists in the programming of the Eyeway radio programme.
  3. Assists in establishing materials to broadcast on radio.
  4. Participates in research into local, regional, national and international sources for possible use.
  5. Participates in helpdesk activities in order to remain familiarized with the domain, and supports the helpdesk counsellors as and when the need arises and the primary duties allow.
  6. Participates with other staff in regard to special programs, events and fundraising activities.
  7. Perform all duties as assigned by the Programme Manager Radio.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Specific educational background:
A degree in communications and/or radio production will be helpful, but probably there is nothing specific that you can study to be a producer for radio, as you usually work your way up into this position from other smaller (radio) jobs.

Essential knowledge:

Knowledge of production techniques, procedures and standards.
Knowledge of broadcast rules, regulations and guidelines.
Knowledge of programming techniques, procedures and standards.
Knowledge of the program format subject area(s).

Essential skills:

Understanding of and demonstrated commitment to issues regarding disability in general and vision impairment in particular.
Managing own personal growth and development continuously.
Adapting to change.
Providing creativity and innovation.
Being able to work independently as well as in a team.

Computer skills:

Ability to understand and operate computer equipment and programs.
Experience that must be possessed:
Some experience in program evaluation, acquisition and scheduling for radio or television.
